NEW PASSPORT APPLICATION FOR A CHILD (Below 18 yrs.)

 

(A) Documents plus photocopies to be produced in person

i) Birth Certificate (long Birth Certificate)

ii) National Identity Card or Passport (Father or Mother)

iii) Two Passport Colour Photographs (Size 3.5 x 4.5cm)

iv) Old Passport or Emergency Travel Documents If Any

v) Children over 15 years should have their own National Identity Card

(B)       Photographs

i) Must not have artificial colour in most cases caused by reflection of light.

ii) Must be of the correct size ie5 x 4.5cm.

iii) Smaller photographs are not acceptable

iii) The background colour and the colour of clothes should not merge egwhite on white background.

iv) Size of the head must not dominate the photograph.

v) INSTANT or POLAROID photographs are not acceptable.

vi) Must NOT be certified ie stamped at the back and signed as it affects the quality of the photograph.

vii) Ensure details on all documents especially birth certificate tally ie spelling of names and the same names are on all documents in the same order.

viii) Finger prints and filling-in of forms will only be done at the Embassy on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS of every week from 9:00AM to 12:00PM and 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

Verification of documents  –        AU$80.00

Once an application for a pasport, has been processed by the Embassy, individual applicants are expected to send their application forms to a representative in Zimbabwe who will submit and collect the application at an office of the Regstrar of Passports. To empower the representative to collect the passport, which is a security document, the applicant is required to write a letter to the Registrar-General authorising the representative to collect the passport on their behalf. The letter of authorisation should state the full names and national identity number of the representative.
